Introduction
Want to study in Canada on Fully Funded Scholarship? Future Help Portal is here to help you. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for the year 2024 is an initiative of the Canadian Government, established in 2008 as a tribute to George Philias Vanier, a renowned Canadian soldier and diplomat who served as Canada's Governor-General from 1959 to 1967. Known as the Rhodes Scholarship of Canada, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships program has gained popularity among highly skilled and talented students, whether they are Canadian nationals or foreign students residing in Canada.
The Vanier Scholarship 2024 seeks to attract exceptional individuals with leadership qualities and outstanding educational accomplishments in various fields, including social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, engineering, and health-related disciplines. The selection process for this Canadian post-graduate scholarship program is based on three equally weighted criteria: academic excellence, research potential, and leadership qualities. The assessment of these criteria is solely based on the documents submitted by the applicants, as no interviews are conducted for the nominated scholars of the Vanier CGS 2024.
This scholarship program follows a unique application and selection method. The participating institutions in Canada are allocated a quota of Vanier CGS scholarships. Interested applicants need to apply to the University and indicate their desire to be considered for the Vanier Canadian Government grant for the Ph.D. program. The institutions themselves nominate the selected candidates for the Vanier scholarship in Canada. Detailed information about the application process and procedures can be found in the following paragraphs, along with relevant links for the convenience of readers and applicants.
The administration of Vanier CGS scholarships in Canada is carried out by Canadian Government agencies, namely the Canadian Institute of Health Research, the National Science and Engineering Research Council, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Each Vanier scholar receives an annual grant of $50,000 for a duration of three years. The program supports and accommodates up to 166 scholars every year. In return, these outstanding scholars contribute to creating an innovative and productive academic environment within Canadian universities and across Canada as a whole.
